Timeless memories will forever be vivid to us, especially if they include people who are very dear to us. Old photographs have its own way of making my heart happy no matter where or who's in it, but of course, it's a different feeling when it's someone we know is actually in it, at a point in time that I as a viewer does not yet exist.
I would like to share a couple of photos of my late mother. She was born in 1958 so these photos were taken in the late 60's where she is attending Grade school. Seeing these pictures makes me miss her more but at the same time, makes me feel happy because it reminds me that for a time, she was also a child.
She passed away last 2011, just a few months after my college graduation, after along battle with kidney failure. I miss you forever Mom. Please keep on guiding and praying for all of us.
I would love to welcome and invite everyone to join this new Linky that I thought of starting - Timeless Thursdays. (Bear with me for any short-comings, this is my first link ever)
Timeless Thursdays is open for anyone who wishes to share old photos or old thoughts that you would like to share as beautiful memories with everyone. This can be from yesterday, a year ago, or something from your grandma's treasure chest.
This runs every Thursday at 12 am (Manila/Perth Time) until Wednesday the same time (12 am)
Please add a link back to my blog so your friends and viewers can also join and visit other timeless memories they want to share. You can use the badge on your blog post.
I'm so sorry your mother left when you were so young. Mine died three years after college. So much of our lives have happened in those years since. I'd like to think they know who we are, what we've done with our lives. But their loss is never easy nor is it easily forgotten. In fact, it is never forgotten, nor are they.
ReplyDeletePerfectly beautiful words you put it in, Jeanie. We are almost the same because I wasn't able to let my mom even enjoy a little with the small money I started earning once she passed. Although she did see me becoming a teacher during those days, it still is sad. But as you said it, and I totally believe it, our Moms are always with us even if we can;t see them, they see us and guide and am proud of us. Never forgotten, very true! Hugs dear Jeanie!
Delete...Stevenson, I sorry to learn that you Mother died at such a young age. Both of my parents died about 30 years ago and they are missed.
ReplyDeleteYes she did, she passed away at 52 and it's sad. And it has been an eye opener to e especially in this last few years to appreciate my father and the fact that he is still with me now. They will forever be missed and Sending thoughts to my mom and your parents in heaven Tom :)
DeleteYour mother was a lovely woman. I am 7 years younger with older kids who gave me 6 grchildren.
ReplyDeleteMy parents are both gone, one in 2005 and other 2011. I am blessed to have many photos. I'll sign up, but I can't guarantee I can post on a regular basis. Thanks for sharing your life.
Hello Susan, welcome to my Blog :)
DeleteThank you very much for your compliment, if my Mom was alive she would definitely love hearing that. You are blessed to have a big family with amazing grandchildren and they surely are blessed to have you in their lives.
Oh! one of your parents passed away, the same year as my Mom. My mom passed away at 1.11.11 which is something I can easily remember.
Thank you so much for joining and I would love to see your photos to share! I will also be visiting your blog too :) Stay safe and greetings from the Philippines!
I hate that you lost your mom...she sure was young...I was born 3 years before her. She was a cutie.
ReplyDeleteThank yous o much Rose that is so sweet of you. I agree, it was hard to see her go at a very young age. But I still am thankful she did not pass when I was younger.
DeleteBeautiful pics of your Mom! Mine passed on December 29th 2011. I had to call her youngest Brother in Spain. He thought I call to wish him a happy birthday... Life sometimes really is very mean.
ReplyDeleteBut. As long as we remember our loved ones... they´re not gone, right. To our Mothers.
Oh my friend, our Mothers went to heaven the same year, 2011. Oh that is so sad, it must have been hard for your brother :( But you are very right, They are never gone and always with us. It's very true, at times people think it's just a cliche but you can really feel their presence when we are very happy or very sad, you know our Moms are there. Thank you so much for sharing Iris.
DeleteAnd more thank you Iris for joining my Linky! I was super happy to see you on it because it's my very first! I'm so excited to head on to your Timeless Post :)
Stevenson, I am sorry. You lost your Mom at a very early age. I had the luxury to spend some more time with mine.
ReplyDeleteA pic of her is right here, to the left. Like Einstein she shows her tongue and online I made it blue. She´s grinning big :-)
Hope you have such fun pics, too, or make some, it helps me big to see her like that as I just know she´s loved that!
Iris I was able to visit your post that you shared about your Christmas with your Mom and I felt so emotional. thank you so much for sharing that, I left a comment there too because I was grateful for you to share such a moment of your life that is very important.
DeleteAnd Oh! about funny pictures, My Mom also has one! I just can;t see it anymore because she hid it! I made one of the mona lisa and its her face in the face of Mona Lisa and it was super funny! She got mad when she saw it but I know she is laughing also on the inside! I'm sure it's just here at home HAHA
Stevenson, sadly my e-mail does not let me know when someone answeres on my blog, so thank you for the hint, and I answered, too.
DeleteOur Mums are still here, in our hearts.
And I do hope, dear friend, that you find that picture!
My Brother believes, too, they look upon us. A nice thought, isn´t it!
P.S. here you can see my Mum laughing, hope you have such pictures, too!
DeleteThey had to leave, but they were happy, too, right...
All my pleasure my dear friend Iris! Oh that is very true and I am happy that even your brother believes on that thought which is very much comforting for us if we think of it. Oh yes! I will surely look for that one, I hope she did not throw it HAHA
DeleteYour mother looks super sweet and there is something in her smile that brings joy to me by looking at it. She was happy, and surely she is happy as well now :)
Sharing your photos is a lovely way to memorialize your mother. Several years ago, I collected and posted many photos of my childhood, and also images of things I remember such as books and movies, but I'm not doing that so much now. Today I'm participating in a blog link-up about kitchens that's been going on for a number of years, but maybe next week, I'll go back to some old photos and share with your participants.
ReplyDeletebe well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteYour Mom is beautiful. I do believe that the people we love never really leave us, and that they're always watching over us.
That is super nice of you Kayni! I really appreciate your kind words for my mother. And very much true to those words you said, they ever left, they're everywhere we go as long as we remember them :)
DeleteBeautiful photos! I understand how you feel ... In 2014 I lost my dad and two years later my beloved grandmother died. I like looking at their photographs. I have a lot of them in frames. They still live in my hearts ... Father Twardowski once said "Let us hurry to love people, they leave so quickly". And that's the truth.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful words from Father Twardowski, thank you so much Rodzina! It's lovely that you have framed photos of your loved ones because we also do that here in our home to remind us how loving our mother and our grandparents are. I know we don;t forget them but still, seeing their photos give us joy in the heart.
DeleteThat’s a great idea for a linkup ... I keep thinking I should scan more of my photos. I’m glad you have such lovely memories of your beautiful mother.
