Timeless Thursdays Week 2

It's time for another Timeless Thursday and I would like to invite everybody to join us by sharing a photo or two and some memories of the past, near or far, from a time that you would like to bring us to.

Forgive me for posting late and for having some formatting problems because ai am posting this through my phone because our home internet connection is down at the moment and every subscriber of our internet provider across the province and region is experiencing the same and yes, I was not able to go to work as well due to internet being the primary need for me to work from home.

For now, I would like to share these three photos and dedicate this post to our loving Mothers, and in my case, those that have passed away now. Growing up, aside from my mom, I grew up with the guidance of my grandmother and my aunt. They are big inspirations in my life, my grandma put me to school from kindergarten until I finished my Bachelor's Degree, and my aunt has been a visible part of my life, every single day since I was born until her final days.

And to all Mothers, here with us and in heaven, I would like to greet you all HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I hope we all have that chance to extend our love and care to our Mothers, but me, no matter how much I want to, I just cannot anymore. But if you still can, please, tell your mother how much you love her and how thankful you are for all the things she do for you and for your family.

To my blog friends who are also mothers themselves, Happy Mother's Day from me and my blog.

I would love to welcome and invite everyone to join this new Linky that I thought of starting - Timeless Thursdays. (Bear with me for any short-comings, this is my first link ever)

  2. By coincidence I really have such a post today, but it´s not a nice one.

Beautiful tribute and photos in your case!
I have such a red hat, too, since 2013 it travels to Perth with me - thank you for the smile, Stevenson!

Mother´s Day here is also coming Sunday. But isn´t actually every day a day to remember our loved ones?

I hope you understand, dear friend, that I will not attend your party this timer, it would be inappropriate...

    1. Thank you so much dear Iris and I am so happy you like it! I really like that photo of my Mom with the red hat, she looks so young on it! And your red hat sure is so memorable since it has traveled with you!

You are right, it is every single day we remember and say a prayer for our loved ones. That's because never a day we did not miss them!

I totally understand Iris and I have read your post :( That is a very sad and tragic thing.

  3. Dearest Stevenson,
What a lovely post and it highlights one of the positive aspects of several Asian cultures, respecting the elders.
In most cases a family consists of three generations in which the grandmotherly role is very strong.
Like you, my Mom and also Mother-in-law and both Grandmothers, reside in heaven...
But their memory and teaching stays with us till our last breath and their souls remain very close to us still.
Thanks for such a thoughtful writing...
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Mariette I am super happy to see you here on my blog! And I really adore your knowledge about Asian Culture because what you said is absolutely true! Here in the Philippines, it's always the grandparents who have the strongest role in the family. Age only makes them stronger, wiser, and gain the most respect even until they pass away. You mother and grandma are now in heaven and hopefully they get acquainted with my mom and grandma and aunt.

Thank you so much Mariette, your words were very lovely!

  8. I'm a bit late to add a link but here's one about connecting to my great, great grandmother through genealogy. I love this link post. Good luck with your internet. I wondered if you might be having trouble -- I hadn't seen you visit recently and I so look forward to those!

    1. hello dear Jeanie! I am so happy to see you here and I really am so happy that you shared your beautiful post about your great great grandmother and the story of her family. It is such a beautiful post especially how you shared where she was from through pictures of then and now.

Oh you were right, throughout Wednesday, our internet connection went down and it was very sad, I wasn't able to go to work. Good thing my phone can still send emails using mobile data so I was able to notify my managers in Rhode Island and North Carolina. I really miss your blog too and I can't wait to go there now! Loved your other blog so much!
