Student Recognition - Timeless Thursdays 7

With the Coronavirus at hand in our world right now, the world was shaken in intensities unimaginable, affecting all aspects of lives in every country in the planet. Work has been reformed, food has been hard to search for, and schools have been impaired.

I feel very sad for the students who would have been just moths away from marching on stage and doing their half a minute strut that they prepared for 4 years of 6 years or 10 years or even more! Personally, graduation is such a big deal to me, the ceremony I mean. It may not be very important for others but to me, it is a very symbolic celebration of a job well done in completion of whatever it was that you finished inside the class. It's a great way of recognizing one's self for an important milestone that can never be easily done.

Me on a couple of Graduations when I was in Pre-School 25 years ago.

Though it may be sad that most of you all graduates never had a proper way of celebrating your victory at school, from me and from this blog. May I congratulate you for a job well done. For another step closer to your dreams, and another dream to be dreamed as you enter your next chapter, whether it be higher school or the world of the adults.

From me, Congratulations Class of 2020! This might seem like an end but it sure is just the beginning of a bigger world that is waiting for you! You have the world in your hands, make use of this chance to make it better not just for you, not just for your family, and not just for your country, but for the whole world! We all depend on you to make this ailing world bounce back to a better place to live in.

PS Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement in the past few days that this blog was put down. There has been a massive identity theft attack in our country that affected most citizens on Facebook, especially students of the Top Universities. Until now, the people and the reason behind it was still unknown, but I assure you, having a fake profile on social media using your photo and your name is not something fun. It scared me on massive levels and it did not put me to sleep for 2 days! Secure your data and your social media accounts, not everything is as secure and safe as it seem nowadays.

But happily, I and this blog is back up. Thank you all for the encouraging comments on Cavite Daily Photo and on my blog redirect page  that encouragement me. you all are so touching and very kind!

  1. Cutest pics, dear Stevenson! Here you get only a graduation after finishing secondary school and one after uni.
I did not go to either one. The first was too crazy to me. They hired tractors and went onto the streets, drinking a lot.
The second they wore finest clothes and danced (and drank). My family took me to a nice restaurant instead.

After my very first phone interview today by Brother called me and said, "well done, have some sparkling wine or a beer :-)"
Well jobs these days need two interviews, thanks to Corinna, so I have to wait to party... or do not party at all.

But very encouraging words you have, thank you!
I do believe the blogger-world is encouraging, it really helped me often!

I have another "oldie" to participate here, too :-)

    1. Dearest Iris! Oh, that is also what will happen now here now that he Basic Education is now 12 years just like anywhere else in the world. During my time, it was just 6 years of Grade School and 4 years of Highschool, each had their own graduations. but now, it only happens after Senior High School.

It's so funny that they always get drunk on graduations there, here, it is so much like what you parents did, a nice lunch or dinner at a restaurant! I remember after my college graduation my parents and my brother, we went to a Pizza Restaurant! Yumm!

OMG June 10th The big interview day! Congratulations dear Iris! I know there is another one as you said but still I'm proud you are done with the first. It's very sweet of your brother to call you!

And thank YOU for being one of my blogging BFFs dear Iris! And another thank you for always sharing your lovely oldie posts that I really really enjoy!

    2. Dear Steve, I think this Link Party of yours is a lovely idea!

I try not to be too positive about a second interview, but I sure hope for it!

Yes, I think I may have not only wonderful blog-friends, also in you!, but the best Brother you can wish for, too!

P.S: I once got a Barbie in a bathtub. I filled the side with real water, there was a button that pumped the water into the tub.
OK, done that. Boring, understood how it´s done, give it to somebody else ;-)

  2. Things have really changed so much in the last few months due to the virus. I don't know if things will ever get back to normal again, or the normal that we remember.

Great photos from your youth :-D And yes congrats to all the students around the world :-D

  4. Graduations are important milestones in our life journey. I'm not sure why so many think they need to get drunk to celebrate, going out for a nice meal is so much more civilized :)

  5. I'm glad your blog is back up and that you can post again, and that all your accounts are straightened out. I'm thinking that this just has to be the most frustrating thing ever. More than that -- pretty scary. Your reminder is always a good one.

  6. Identity theft is a very scary thing, it's good that you are over it at least for now. If you designate your list of FB friends as visible ONLY TO YOURSELF, then that stops the thieves from contacting your friends from the fake ID that they make. Your friends can still see your posts and see responses. Obviously if the thieves steal your password this isn't useful. I wish you luck with all this!

    1. That is true Mae, I did that just a few weeks before which I should have already done a long time ago. It will also protect my friends from being seen as well. And the scary part of not knowing who it was is that maybe it's also a friend of mine on the list so even if I kept myself private it's still scary because what if its a 'friend' but I very much hope not.

Thank you so much Mae for your kind advises!

  7. Welcome back, Steven! That was not a pleasant experience for you. I have been getting odd friend requests from people already on my list. I need to revise my privacy settings. Here in the USA we are fearing a new build-up of COVID-19 as people are gathering to protest and socialize. Being at risk, we are staying indoors except for our early morning wilderness walks, trips to the doctors and to pick up groceries curbside. Take care.
