Trying to Get Back

It's been a while since I saw this blogger editor page, to my blogging friends, I think you took notice of this. I would like to extend my apologies, I know I don't have to but still I feel like it because it might worry some friends I have here, you are all so dear to me. I think it has been three weeks since I last posted something. I really appreciate your thoughts, especially my friends Iris Flavia and Ananka who took time and efforts to send me emails and check on me. I really appreciate that my dear friends.

I had a restful weekend so I really put posting as a top priority here, but the problem is I'm having a hard time on what I will be writing about. Do you also feel this at times? Like you feel so motivated to write something and share something but the problem is you don't know what to write? I guess I'll just share some updates on what happened to my life in the past weeks:

  • Hectic last two weeks of June at work - It as been quite hectic at work for the first two weeks that I was away. As a response to the current situation, to save our company, it decided to roll up a directive to use all our paid leaves in the second quarter, and with that, since a lot of my teammates had to use more leaves than me, I was the one left to work on their processes and so as my manager. We worked hard for a week, substituting for a team of 4. It was quite tedious but the gratefulness for having a stable job despite this situation just embraces my heart much more than the extra efforts I gave.
  • Deactivated Facebook - It's been a very crazy series of events here in our country, plus having fake accounts made of me, complete with pictures and information that seemed very legitimate, encouraged me to leave Facebook. Plus trust me, a lot, that is happening about the country just urged me to kick the can and shut my profile down. I had to post a notice for a good 24 hours just so my friends will not be surprised and think that I blocked them or something because if you leave Facebook and a friend searches for you, it displays the same screens and behaviors as when somebody blocked you. At the moment it's been more than two weeks since I left Facebook. I did not deprived myself that much of updates from my friends and family, I'm still on messenger so they can connect with me. And I'm also on Twitter @stevenque and on Instagram @thisisstevenque just in case you may want to follow me.
  • My favorite Aunt is not feeling well - This one, I would like to ask for your prayers because it's something that is so hard for me. She is a very close Aunt, just like a mom to me and we traveled together to a lot of places like Japan, USA, Italy, Czech Republic just to name a few. I wish she gets well very soon. Can you please help me pray for her fast healing and recovery.
  • Moving on to a New Garden - A few things happened and I had to move my plants from the Garden I used to show you at. It was sad at first but I thought I can't just leave my plants on a place they won't be cared as much so I thought of starting a new Garden on a spot at our rooftop. Excessive sun will be a problem but then I thought challenges are good and rewarding once you get to work on it and I even thought it will make me a better gardener if I learn how to take care of my plants in such extreme conditions like too much sunshine. Luckily, there's a cheap but good quality UV net available online and I was able to get one. So yes, I'm starting from scratch. Sounds sad to leave the old spot but also exciting to begin again from something bare.
A spot on our rooftop I'll try to make my new Garden

Net Arrived! Thanks to my Dad who helped me set it up yesterday.

Just in time for a strong rain this morning

I'll leave you my dear friends with these updates for now. I just really felt like writing and I really miss all of you and your blogs and also reading your heart-warming comments very much! Let us continue to pray for each other, and for the whole world. It's getting tougher and tougher as the days go by but we are still alive, still breathing, still have the power to see the beauty in this world despite all the ugly things happening in the foreground.

Leaving you with my happy Bromeliads. Moving to a new garden brought new perspectives, one of which is getting to see how beautiful these plants are when viewed from above them.

Never Stop Going Back to what you Love,
Stevenson

  1. Good idea to get out of Facebook: I quit looking at FB posts or adding to mine around 6 months ago for political reasons. It's a very evil company!

Great to see you back to blogging about your life in lockdown and even expressing your job stress. Remember that you are sharing a life that's completely different from those of most of your contacts, so even things that seem little to you are of interest to others, just as we try to describe what's special in our lives.

    1. Oh we are very much the same Mae, I also quit for having that same reason where what I've said above stems from.

Thank you so much, that is super nice of you Mae to say. I am happy that you find it interesting because at times I feel like there's nobody to tell such problems to and you are right, I sometimes think it's too small of a problem for me even if it takes up much space on my thoughts.

      Happy New Week!

  2. Hello my friend Stevenson.
No wonder some time I see you are not active on the blog, not as usual routinely posting new articles almost every day. Apparently there are many things that make you vacuum for a while. I give your support to be active again.
I think it's also natural for someone to feel bored and deadlocked in the idea of writing.

    2. Your welcome my best friend, Stevenson.
To be honest I also rarely active on Facebook to write status or upload photos. The purpose of my Facebook is to provide an article link to friends there.

Stay enthusiastic, take care of your health and manage your activities as well as possible so you don't feel bored.

    3. That is a very good idea, because still Facebook has a lot of reach and it can help us spread the blog links best.

Thank you very much Himawan and you are right, being bored is also a problem especially on these times.

  3. Stevenson! You have me blushing here!
Oh. I have it the other way round, so many thoughts I need to get down "on paper", ummm... blogger, thanks to blogger I assume others really read along, a piece of paper?
I had a diary as teenager. Nothing I wanted to share (my Mum found it, read it and told me off for some of my thoughts...).

I have to say: You have a great company there!
We did the very same with my former boss when Volkswagen let us go the first time (the new boss just saw money and kicked us out).

Facebook luckily does not bug me. Maybe cause an American friend opened that account for me so it´s confused? Facebook, not that friend!

I am sososo sorry and hope your Aunt recovers not only fully, but soon!
My best-loved Aunt lives so far away I saw her last time when my Mum passed. 2011. You two are in my heart and thoughts!

Ohhh, a beautiful new place, I am deeply impressed! I won´t call our balcony a bad name but your new place, bliss! Hope you can offer a cuppa there to your Aunt soon.
    Don´t forget a cake, ice-cream or pizza.

Dear Stevenson... I hope so much it all turns out well, that you have strength to manage it all.

    1. OMG! You had me shocked reading about how your mom read your Diary! Thank you so much Iris, the company really is good to allow us to stay at home especially in such a very dangerous situation here in the Philippines, we are now number 4 in all of Asia and highest number of cases in East and South East Asia :(

Thank you very much dear Iris. She has to undergo surgery at the moment and I am praying woith all my heart for her. I really appreciate your well wishes, thanks dear Iris!

Oh you are so right! When my Aunt recovers, I'll bring her to the garden and she'll be happy to see the rose plant that she gave me a month ago for my birthday!

Oh please send my hugs to Lille Corinna dear Iris! I'm so happy to be back in the presence of you my dear friends :)

    2. Yes. I was shocked, too, to find my diary open on the family table. A lot of trust destroyed and now we open up to the world, crazy, is it.
      How times are a changing!

"At the moment" sounds scary, but good! I have a neighbour who waits - thanks to Corinna - since weeks for a surgery. On the good side: In her case "just" painful, not life-threatening.

Lille Corinna tries to cross edges, too. In lack of fingers and toes (oh, come on, dear Stevenson. We need humour!)
When I was about loosing the function of my right hand and called my Mum, crying in despair, she yelled: "THINK POSITIVE - or it will go wrong!".
My right hand is perfectly OK.
Maybe this helps you? Think POSITIVE.

  6. I am so happy to hear from you again Stevenson. I was beginning to worry about you. But, you know, sometimes Life takes priority over things like blogs - much as we may enjoy our blogging, sometimes other things need to take first importance. Follow your heart and blog if you want, or don't if that is how you are feeling.
What a shame you needed to move your garden, but in the long run it may be for the best. Now the plants can have fresh air and sunshine and rain as well as your love - they are looking really good :)

  7. Dearest Stevenson,
Sure the illness of your favorite aunt is worrisome and prayer sure will uplift her!
Life is complex, it comes and goes in waves and plans are almost always thwarted by others.
Our world also has some parasites and those that love to create chaos. They're being paid to do so...
We should all persevere and not listen to those devils that try above all to do away with God. No prayer in schools, public buildings and on and on. That is the sure road to decline in every way.
If humans don't admit our Creator, never mind in what religion one believes, then the soul gets tainted and things will start going wrong.
It is refreshing to read blogs from kindred spirits. FB for over 90% is just FLUFF. That's what I call it as most people have nothing of value to share. They just keep circulating others' pictures, news or whatever. It often feels like a waste of time.
But we should not give up our own views because of the bozos.
Love your garden and indeed a great idea for using a shade net!
Such rain makes for happy plants and in your climate they should fare well.
    ENJOY.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words dearest Mariette. I really hope and pray with all my heart for my Aunt. She is so dear to me and she was a very good Aunt to me even when I was born, she treated me like her own child. A big yes on those parasites especially on line, they shouldn't be a cause of fear but with technology and its power with the people behind it, it sure gets scary for me. You said it very perfectly! A lot of people acting to be Christians here in our country are working on ways that are very much not Christianly. It's very sad. Glad to have blogs like these where I can still continue to express my feelings and also share my days to dear friends like all of you.

Please have a great new week dear Mariette!

It's tough when a loved one gets ill or has to have an operation. Hopefully it will all work out fine. Your new spot for your garden will work out fine. It has to adapt to its new environment and you have to adapt with the care you give it. Both will strive just fine with a little time. :) I left facebook two years ago and don't miss it. I have more time to do whatever I wish. Been walking alot and taking photos. Glad to hear from you, take care, stay safe and enjoy your days, my friend!

  14. I was so glad when you came by yesterday because I had noticed you weren't posting and at first I didn't worry but I was starting to wonder. I can see why -- it sounds very hectic. Just the garden alone is a lot of work, not to mention doing the work of others at your job. You're right, you are lucky to have one, but that doesn't always make it easier during the late hours.

Of course, you will have my prayers for your dear aunt. I hope she will heal and return to health. And well done with FB. I have contemplated doing much the same just because all the news is so dire these days. But so far, I'm still there. Your new garden will be splendid and I know it will be loved.

I'm getting close to deactivating my Facebook account as well. I'm also thinking of retaining messenger so that my friends can still contact me.

I have drafts that are waiting to be published for quite a while, so they're the one's I've been editing and posting. I stopped blogging for more than a year, so I have a few stories in draft form.

The new garden is looking great. I can't wait to see a lot of blooms soon.

I have not yet started tomorrow's blog despite a feeling of urgency and probably having many photos to talk about. Praying for your Aunt's recovery, and good luck with that roof garden. Here in south Florida our Bromeliads have proliferated and threaten to overcome the garden. Every year I must cull over 50% of them.

  21. Good thoughts for your dear Aunt’s recovery Stevenson. It is a hard thing to be sick at any time, but especially now with the added worry of the virus. I’m sorry and sending hope. .... I think just about every photo blogger shares your thoughts ... most of us aren’t having any new “adventures” to write about, so it begins to feel a lot like we are repeating ourselves. ... But when I read other blogs (like yours) , i get a fresh perspective and that is good! I hope you keep it up.
