Yesterday's Mail

Postcards I received yesterday, Wednesday afternoon.

It was a very happy day yesterday and one of the reasons, aside from receiving my Graduation Sash (will be posting about that on another time, that's a truly special moment as well), was a very happy day for receiving so much mail! This probably has been the most number of mail I received in a single day since a long time ago! I have been waiting for a lot of Holiday mails from friends around the world and yes, the waiting we all worth it!

Postcards from different countries from my penpal/postcrossing friends arrived today all at the same time, with some from 4 months ago! They were from Portugal, Russia, India, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Turkey, and Colorado (Look Brother Padre, it's from your state!).

Aside from postcards from my postcrosser friends!, I also received some of these special ones from my dear blog friends!

All the way from my sister Iri's hometown - Seesen, Germany!

Oh the joy I had when I saw this giant card! It's almost a foot in length! My dearest sister from Braunschweig, Iris Flavia, went home to visit her family on her hometown of Seesen and how swete of her to get me this lucky piggy postcard! I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your trip to see your nieces and thank you for guarding this beautiful card from your cute nieces to send to me! Haha Sending a lot of hugs back at you dear Iris! (You'll love it here today, it's the day of the year when the temperature would just rise up 5 degrees up suddenly - a signal that cool monsoon is over).

Look at that beautiful ornament from Scotland!

This one is from another dear blog friend Ananka of Posh Polishes! I'm not sure if she sent me this after seeing my ornaments post a couple of months ago but she did an awesome job making my jaw drop yesterday! I opened it and saw this beautiful black and gold star! I am so so so excited to hang this at my tree this year, one great thing to anticipate the holidays again. Hugs to you dearest Ananka, you made me super happy and you'll forever be part of my Christmases to come through this beautiful ornament :)

Also, I would like to share this beautiful card from my Boss all the way from Rhode Island! Love her so much and I owe a lot of learning and encouragement from her through the years! Aside from the grace of the Lord, she is one of the biggest reasons why I'm still here at work and seeing the joy and silver linings despite the stressful days it can get at times.

Christmas Card from Rhode Island

Thank you all so much for opening my mailbox with me! Times have been tough lately not just from work but also from my budding Brownie business that I get to enjoy as well despite the efforts to bake them. The beautiful words and feedback I get just warms my heart. But these beautiful cards make me extra extra happy! They may just be pieces of paper, but for sentimental people like me, they are timeless treasures!

Keep on snail mailing!
Stevenson

  1. It is not hard to understand your elation, Stevenson. Real mail is always a joy to receeive and I fear it may soon become a thing of the past as more and more countries are shutting down their postal services. As far as I know there is not even one left in Central and South America.

  5. What wonderful mail you have received. I quite agree about how joyful it is to get "real" mail, something that isn't a bill for something! Your cards are beautiful and wonderful representations of friendship. Big smiles.

    1. Thank you so much dearest Jeanie! You are right! Most of our bills go through email here so it's very very rare to receive physical mail usually but for me who writes and stuff, I am blessed to receive them occasionally :)

Mail in Philippines is very slow when you get cards that were meant for Christmas, but the dutch will say "better late than never!"

  9. You are one popular and loved guy! I would try to send you something, but I don't ever send or receive any mail from here - not in all these years! It's actually nice not getting junk mail, which I get a lot of in the US. Have a great week!

  13. Yes, Stevenson, getting real mail (not email) is a real treat and it's why I send letters to several people and also send cards to many others with short notes included. I can well imagine how super-excited you were to get such a bonanza in your mailbox as I would have been too. That ornament will surely being back a happy memory of when it arrived as it hangs on your tree next holiday season.A post about post was great! Looking forward to reading more about your upcoming graduation (congratulations) and also about your new brownie business.
