A Night with the Eiffel Tower - Timeless Thursdays 22

Seine River Cruise

I really wanted to post something long this week for Timeless Thursdays but just earlier, while I was fixing some pictures from my trip to Paris, I stumbled upon this photo and decided I'll share this one with all of you. No long stories needed for this one I believe, the photo says it all.

***

PS I would have to apologize to all of you my blog friends, I have been caught up with a lot of work this past couple of weeks but please remember that your comments are very appreciated and makes me so happy to read them, it eases all my stresses. Sending everyone love! And please do pray for the Philippines, especially my countrymen that were greatly affected by the flooding due to the typhoon that passed through earlier this week.

Never Stop Dreaming!
Stevenson

  4. Fantastic photo! I have to make it back to France once Notre Dame is finished being repaired. I made the mistake of only going on a day trip from London. I hope life is treating you okay with the typhoon and with Covid.

  6. It is a very long time since ai was in Paris, other than for flight connections at Charles de Gaulle International Airport. Your poor country continues to be beset by storm after storm, and so much tree cover has been removed that the results are ever more devastating. I hope that some serious reforestation is taking place. Stay well.

    1. that is very true my friend David :( And now it's a very strong one coming. You said it very right! It's just sad that the current admin doesn;'t really prioritize reforestation. Hoping the next one will. Be well and safe David!

  7. Great photo, dear Stevenson!
I saw the tower only in daylight, we stepped up. I was living in Louviers for two weeks with a French family when I was... 14!
But I see it every 6 months. My dentist has a huge pic of it on the wall - not the best association, LOL! Sorry you have so much work, hope that changes soon. And that despite of it you enjoy at least what you do! Hugs from here...

    1. Iris!!!! You always make me laugh! But I am so amazed that you got to live with a French family! I would have loved that too! Love that you see it every 6 months! Now I realize I see it everyday just above my bed :) I do my best to enjoy it but if not, I try to find other things to take me away from it HAHAHAHA Sending you hugs to Germany dear Iris!

  8. Paris is an amazing city, isn't it? I visited for 5 days in 2009 and I want to go back because 5 days is not enough. I love that photo of you in front of the Eiffel Tower. We did one of those Seine River cruises too which was a good way to see some things. Now I need to go see what trip I would like to post today. Hope all is well.

  10. The Eiffel Tower is really special when lit up at night and visible from almost everywhere in the city. We had a friend who could see it from her windows in her high-rise apartment in a near suburb. In one of the apartments where we lived on a long stay there, we could also see it, day and night. There are also good views from the opposite side of the city, where there's a big hill with beautiful views. Or from the top of the Pompidou Center modern art museum. Such a great structure!

    be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com

    1. Dearest Mae, if I was your friend who lives with the Eiffel on view, it sure will be as good as the first time I saw it even if I see it everyday :) It's just so magical! My friend's house was far from it so it wasn;t visible on a daily basis, I still needed to ride a Tram and a Metro :)

  14. That photo does say it all! We feel bad for our old neighbors when we lived in New Orleans. They have had four tropical storms hit them this season. No severe damage but loss of power is a problem. Hope that lives were not lost in the Philippines. Thanks for hosting!

  15. Dearest Stevenson,
What a lovely Paris photo of you with the Eiffel Tower at night in the back!
    Fond memories, no doubt.
Sad news about your country due to extreme weather. It can be so devastating you your part of the world.
We endured a flooding of sorts, the main water pipe, from the water-company, burst open alongside the road. Still a lot of mess but it got repaired and our garden and everything eventually will recover. No more water inside the home... A stressful week, using the wet vac.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  16. If Covid hadn't happened I would be at Morgan's Forge near Bath in the UK now. Ah well -- I can revisit and share this cottage in the country where we stayed with you! I adore this photo -- it's a stunning picture. You look divinely happy here and the tower is always exquisite.

  23. A beautiful photo of you with the Eiffel tower. I haven't participated this week either, as I was swamped with work and really tired.
So sorry for the typhoon's devastation of last week and I just heard there was a new and stronger one today which would probably affect the area where you live. My daughter who was living in Batangas left the Philippines on the 5th of October, to Germany as her husband got a new contract. She was sad to leave because she loved the weather and the people she met there.
Keep safe, hope all is well with you and your family.

    1. Oh dearest Sami! It's perfect timing that your daughter and her family left last 5th because Batangas was also greatly devastated by the typhoon! I wish her the best on their new life in Germany. Hope to see you again this week dear Sami!

  25. Nice to see both yourself and the Eiffel Tower, Stevenson. Thoughts and prayers for those affected by flooding, as here in the US parts of Louisiana have also been devastated. No worries about not being able to blog visit because of work as we will be here when you can visit. We all need to do what needs to be done first.
