I was so lucky to have scored a very cheap flight to the island of Guam two years ago. There I celebrated my 29th year, by the sea and under the sky. It was not a cheap place to go around since public transport is not very common since most of the citizens have their car but luckily I was hosted by a very kind Filipino family through AirBNB and also amazing people from our town who now lives in the island.
Let me share with you my series of photos that I took which are truly beautiful and vibrant memories from last year. No more words, just the colors of Guam.
Never Stop Taking Photos!
Steven :)

...my father was on Guam in WWII, I doubt that it looked like this when he was there! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteI agree Tom. But surely the nature parts are as beautiful as they were :)
DeleteI've looked a Guam a few times but the airfares are ridiculous from here - and the flying time...as you go all over the place. Love the sunset and flowers pic! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh I know what you mean! Even for the Philippines, the flights to Guam are whopping but I just got really lucky with a promo :) Thank you so much Lydia :)
DeleteVery, very beautiful, dear Stevenson! Especially the pool by night, it looks so warm and inviting whilst I sit here with hot tea and my microwave stripey tiger on my lap, still having ice-cold feet... Thank you for warming up my mind at least! I´ll add some freedom above from warmer days around here
ReplyDeleteThank you so much dear Iris and I am so happy I brought you that warmth :) Hearing about that microwave stripy tiger made me think for a moment then I thought about it when I saw it on stores on colder countries! wishing the weather will be a little warmer there. My friend in Paris said it was 8 a day before! That was so close to the temp when I was there last Winter!
DeleteWhat a healthy envy Stevenson, a precious trip that would surely leave an important mark on you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Greetings.
That is very true my friend José Antonio! Something I will remember forever thanks to the kind Filipinos who made my trip extra doable and memorable :)
DeleteWhat a colourful island Stevenson - love your photos, and it looks as though you must have really had a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings
Maxine
Thank you so much Maxine and yes, it was an amazing trip! I love the beach and the sea even if I lived in the tropics for all my life :)
DeleteI am sure it was a great visit. Guam is one of those names from history everyone knows even if they could not locate it on a map.
ReplyDeleteOh David, I very much agree with what you meant. Though it's close to our country 4 hour flight, the flight going there was all pacific ocean in all directions then BOOM a small island in sight! It was unbelievable! Beautiful!
DeleteBeautiful photos Stevenson, I never imagined Guam to be a touristic destination. I like that very colourful restaurant.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much dear Sami! It was beautiful!!! Not very tourist friendly in the sense that public transportation is kinda hard but it is a shopping heaven!
DeleteThat looks amazing, now I know where it is and the lovely postcard you last posted - well the most recent one haha! :-D
ReplyDeleteOh Yes Ananka! You are right, it was from the last postcard on the Postcards blog :) hahahaha Thank you so so much for following it :)
DeleteBeautiful, fantastic photos! :D I wanted to visit Guam when I was living in Japan, but I never made it there. Oh, since you liked my post last week about Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, I linked my post on Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Becky you are right, I think the largest tourist population of Guam are Japanese people from where you lived. Oh thank you so much for taking me inside the Sagrada Familia!
DeleteGood to see you back my pal. Those are very colourful pictures from a place that is not on the general tourist trail. A cousin of ours spent time on Guam when he served in the RAF many years ago. If you don't mind I will link to your photos today.
ReplyDeleteMy dear friend Phil I am very happy to see you back! And please please do link up, you are very much welcome. I am very thankful you did actually because Greece is such a dream for me and you just took us there! Hope you can join again this week :)
DeleteBeautiful and colourful photos Stevenson. Looks like a lovely place to visit and explore.
ReplyDeleteIt really was paradise Bill! Aside from the beautiful nature, duty free shopping is also an attraction :)
DeleteDearest Stevenson,
ReplyDeleteYou got so very lucky for being hosted there by a Filipino AirBNB and that way being able to roam around for special photos and memories!
Hugs,
Mariette
You are very correct dearest Mariette! Very blessed to have known a Filipino family while I was there. They were very nice to me and I will never forget that!

DeleteBoa tarde meu querido amigo. Nossa Guam deve se muito lindo. Parabéns pelo seu trabalho excelente.
ReplyDeleteMuito obrigado meu querido amigo Luiz!!!
DeleteYour photographs are fantastic. I particularly photos #5 and #7. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh I love those as well Liberty! Thank you so much and my pleasure!
DeleteWe don't hear much about Guam, but it looks like a really great place to visit.
ReplyDeleteIt is very beautiful Margaret :) It was once a part of the Spanish Colony of the Philippines which gives us similarities in culture and heritage :)
DeleteThis is beautiful, Stevenson. I love the colored hearts, especially. Beautiful photos indeed. I'm too late to the party to join in but hopefully I can get my act together for next week!
ReplyDeletehi dearest Jeanie! Oh that colorful hearts are striking :) Oh that would be amazing if we can have you again this week dear Jeanie :)
DeleteGreat advice to never stop taking photos, Stevenson, and thanks for these very colorful ones from your trip to Guam. That is the significance of all those heart shaped tags in the second photo? The pool area looked lovely and I wondered if it was near where you stayed which you said was not a hotel, but an air BnB. I was surprised that you were not in any of these photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Beatrice for your kind words! About the hearts, those are like love locks where you write names of you and your partner and it will be locked "forever" Oh that pool area I think was in Hilton if I remember correctly. Haha Yes, I tried to not show myself on this post :)
DeleteOh my, I missed the link party again. Stopoped by too early and today was too late. Need to adjust my world clock! Magnificent scenery!
ReplyDeleteOh my dear friend Kenneth! I hope you can join us again this week :) Thank you so much!
DeleteBeautiful place Stevenson. Guam really looks like the place to visit. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt really is Lili :) Thank you so much :)
DeleteLoved seeing these beautiful and colourful photographs, thank you Stevenson.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I am happy you love them Jan :) Happy Weekend!
DeleteSomehow I missed this post and Timeless Thursday. That makes me sad, but glad I found it. I would love to visit Guam. There is a US National Park there and one of my travel goals is to visit as many as I can. I don't think I could score such a cheap flight though. Smile. Glad I found this, and I am off to visit Paris at Night. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much dear Erika! Yes! I think it's called War in the Pacific National Park. I really hope you can visit Guam it's amazing and getting there is so magical because it's so unusual to see a very tiny island in the middle of hours and hours of ocean in the flight :)
DeleteStunning.
