Brand New Adventure

Bukidnon, Philippines - July 2022

I have been a way for so long, as per my friend Beatrice said, more than half the year that passed. I landed a new position which is a very big opportunity for me this June and all the months before that I was also busy preparing for it. I am very grateful because I did not expect at all that I will be chosen but I was, thanks to my new managers and director, and also with the ever support of my former manager who I always will be grateful for not just for her support but for being a really good friend and mentor up until now.

I have been struggling mentally with everything new, not just with process but of all the changes in general even my schedule which became a lot better versus my past 6 years on the Graveyard shift became a challenge for me. But slowly in the past couple of weeks, as I opened more about it to my closest friends, they offered beautiful advices and how it is normal and how I should not be hard on myself and put so much pressure especially I am new. I prayed so hard for this position like I have never prayed before, and I should always remember to go back to how much I wanted this and get that motivation whenever it gets hard for me.

I hope to be back to blogging again soon and visit all your wonderful windows and portals that take me home to your places on this planet. I'll keep doing my things and hopefully be back to my 200% energetic self to hopefully bring you back my signature enthusiasm and smiles!

I'll keep it short this time but I just took a few minutes on the beginning of my weekend to say a shout out to all of you my blog friends. I still remember you all and I apologize for being so absent again but I often thought of you all and pray for all my blog friends every time. Leaving you with this nice photo of my first ever horseback ride a couple of weeks ago by the beautiful mountains of Bukidnon in Southern Philippines.

Stay safe and strong,
Stevenson

  2. Wonderful to see you again Stevenson - and to know all is well with you. Yes, change can be both stimulating and draining, so take care and trust God to be your strength. So pleased to hear you have a job that you love, and it's great to see you outdoors and in the countryside, not the city,
    Blessings

    1. And super amazing to see you again here Maxine! Thank you so much for your kind words and I definitely agree, God really has been my refuge all the time, especially on times when it gets hard that I get super anxious and over worry about my new processes. Little by little I help myself as well but giving it all to God that he takes the wheel and help remind me that I cannot control everything but that is completely fin because He will guide me through. Thank you so much Maxine and love the latest Card you did! It reminds me of this photo of mine!

  3. Dearest Stevenson (I answered on your beautiful comment on my blog to some of this already, so... not sure if to copy and paste, that sounds so "cheap").
Please. Do me/yourself one favor! Do NOT give 200%!!!!

Ingo does so and I´m always afraid he might get a heart attack.
I know it´s difficult. I was told off for working way too much overtime.

What I do: If I really have to work longer write down the hours "secretly", my teamleader knows this and if time allows, BOOM Friday I´m off on the balcony, on that time, erasing it.

Work for living, not live for work, pretty please.

And.. you´ll manage, I am sure about that!
My new job was super-hard and challenging a lot, but I have great colleagues - we swear a lot and it´s chaotic, but... I love it. Only woman just yet again, but it does not matter, I´m accepted :-)
(That´s what the book on Six-Thirty is about, too - being accepted as a woman. Suits also the CSD... hope your country will follow soon!).
Hugs from a great summer day! Have an ice cream, OK? Last I had cinnamon, hmmmm....

    1. Dearest Iris, seeing your comment on my blog feels so much like home, Thank you so so much. And yes, That is something I really should learn or else I'll get burned out but I just can't help but do too much because I am afraid that the managers and teammates that accepted me in this big position will be disappointed in me which I should not really worry to much as long as I do my best.

Super love your advise of writing down the extra hours. I think I should do that in any case that I really really need to work extra hours but if not, I should observe turning off my PC in the correct log off time and most especially taking breaks - this has been something I am not good at lately.

thank you so much also for sharing about your experience on your new job, I am so so proud of you being the only woman, but as much as I am proud of you, I have no doubts because you are a great human being and so very capable so I'm not surprised that you are doing well! Hugs from here dearest Iris!

  7. So happy to find this post and the others that follow, Stevenson, as you have been missed in blog-land. Thanks for updating all on what's been going on in your life and with your new position. It always takes a certain amount of time to feel comfortable with new responsibilities. I wish you all the best and as several others have said, don't work too hard and take time to relax, enjoy and rest. Thanks as well for the recent comment and well wishes on our anniversary!
